Matthew C. Reed, 59, of Marlboro passed away on Monday March 26, at his home. Matthew was born in Trenton; he graduated with a master’s degree from Rider University and was a CPA in corporate accounting for Marsh & McLennan for 27 years. He loved spending time with his family, from catching a show at a theater, experiencing new restaurants, travels around the globe, and watching sports matches (especially soccer). He took pride in his vegetable garden and enjoyed being a referee for soccer games. Matthew was passionate about everything he did, thoughtful, charismatic, kind and witty. He will be remembered as a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, son-in-law, uncle and friend. He will be missed by many. Matthew is predeceased by his parents, Charles and Doris Reed. He is survived by his beloved wife, Kathy Reed, Marlboro; his children, Nicholas Reed, Mackenzie Cooledge and her husband, Michael, and Madison Reed; his siblings, Joanne Lebowitz, Elizabeth Reed, Catherine Bentzley, Daniel Reed, and Bartholomew Reed; his grandchildren, Caleb and Lucas Cooledge; his mother and father in law, Walter and Bernadette Bertero, and many loving nieces and nephews. Visitation Saturday, March 31, 2018, 11:00 am until the time of the service at 2:00 pm at the Holmdel Funeral Home, 26 South Holmdel Road, Holmdel.
