James Joseph Tallent, of Colts Neck, passed away on Tuesday, February 7th, 2012 at Centra State Medical Center, in Freehold, N.J. James was born in Brooklyn, N.Y. to Dr. John and Julia Tallent. He was raised and lived on Baisley Avenue, Bronx, N.Y. from 1940 to 1986. He graduated St. Benedicts Grammer School, Bronx, NY and then Xavier High School, Manhattan. Upon graduating from Xavier, he received his undergraduate degree from Fordam University. He then attended Georgetown Dental School, and then St. Johns University where he received his MBA. He was a former salesman for Ciba Geigi, a financial advisor for Merril Lynch New Rochelle and White Plains, N.Y., was a vice president at Tucker Anthony of Red Bank N.J. from 1986 to1997, and a vice president at Buckman, Buckman & Reid of Shrewsbury, N.J. from 1997 to 2012. James is survived by his sister Eileen M. Gearty of Colts Neck, N.J., sister in law Eileen Tallent of Eastchester, N.Y., six nephews, seven great nephews and great nieces. Visitation will be on Thursday from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at the Holmdel Funeral Home 26 South Holmdel Road, Holmdel, N.J.. A Funeral Mass will be offered on Friday, February 10th, 2012 at 10:00A.M. at St. Francis Xavier R.C. Church, 48 West 16th Street, New York, NY. Interment will then follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Hawthorne, N.Y. Donations may be made in James' memory to Xavier High School 30 West 16th Street, New York, NY 10011
