Obituary of Mario D. Giordano
Mario D. Giordano 92, of Lincroft passed away Monday, March 3, 2014. Born in Italy, Mario lived in Bristol, PA and Brooklyn, NY prior to moving to Lincroft. Mr. Giordano was an Army Veteran of World War II having served with the 339th Infantry Regiment, 85th 'Custer' Division, and received the Purple Heart, Bronze Star, and Combat Infantry Badge. He worked for 40 years as a shipping clerk for the Pennsylvania Railroad / ConRail in Philadelphia, PA retiring in 1986. He was also an avid horse racing enthusiast. Mr. Giordano was predeceased by his daughter Linda Giordano. Surviving are his two brothers Aniello Giordano and Michael J. Giordano and his wife Julene, two nieces Christine Giordano and Joanne Wireman and her husband Michael, and three grandnephews Evan, Christopher, and Luke. Visitation will be held Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9PM at the Holmdel Funeral Home 26 South Holmdel Road, Holmdel. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered Friday 10:00AM at St. Leo the Great R.C. Church 50 Hurleys Lane, Lincroft. Entombment will be in the Holmdel Cemetery, Holmdel.
