I am so sad to say goodbye to you Uncle Mario. You were my well dressed, funny uncle, who always had a hug or unconditional love to give. While I am sorry to see you go, I am so grateful to have had the last two months to see you, laugh with you, read to you, drive you around in my car and just get to know the man I loved so much as a child all over again. I am grateful my son, Luke, was able to see what I always saw in you, your kindness and warmth. I am grateful Luke was able to teach you to fist bump and high five and you both were able to do it each time you saw one another. I am grateful that I was able to hear your silly jokes and laugh with you in the past few months (like when I told you the groundhog saw his shadow on groundhog day and you quickly said back "wow, he must have been scared"... always a comedian) I am grateful that you are with Linda and grandma and grandpa. Until we meet again, Uncle Mario. Rest now...
