To the McCarthy Family, We are greatly saddened by the loss of such a wonderful man. Although we don't live in the area, my children remember him as the "tall man with the awesome voice" that sang at Nonnies church. He will be greatly missed. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you. Mike, Kira, Tyler & Colin Cunningham

To the McCarthy Family, I am saddened by your loss. I have fond memories of your dad leading the masses at St. Benedict, with his deep bass voice and his strong example; he was a great father figure to us all. I also have fond memories of Mrs. McCarthy, Justin, Deirdre and Daniel at St. Benedict, and also at Cub Scouts, with lots of fun at the house in the "W" section. I wish you all the best and I will keep your dad and you all in my prayers. Ken Mackin

to the mccarthy family i would like to offer my condolences on the loss of your beloved father and husband. i remember him as a strong , kind , and generous man with a booming singing voice that held the folk group together at church . i can remember as a youngster in church always focussing in on his voice when i would listen to the folk group - perhaps the earliest example of "listening to the bass" in music - and i ended up being a professional bassist. i can remember the entire mccarthy family and especially dan being very helpful to my mom and my family when we were going through a tough times and i am very grateful to have been touched by you all. may you find peace at this time in the presence of your loved ones . god bless . sincerely , john conte jr.

My condolences to the McCarthy family for their loss of a dear, great man - Dan. Although at another company, I worked with Dan continually on projects for the past decade. During that time, I grew to respect and appreciate his thought leadership as an actuary. But, moreso, as a genuine person, who appreciated and enjoyed his co-workers, and who contributed selflessly to the actuarial community. He will be missed.

Dear Virginia & McCarthy Children- My sincere condolences for the loss of your husband and father, Dan. I'll never forget, back when I was an aspiring musician at 12 years old, his voice made quite an impression on me...as it's magnifcence and sheer volume rose above all the other voices in the St. Benedict's Folk Group. You all were so kind to our family back in those tough times...we apprecite it. Dan really touched our lives. May his soul rest in peace. God Bless, Steve Conte

We could not have performed this work without his generous help. My heartfelt sympathy to his family. Gratefully, Camilla S Fahmie (Formerly Sister Camilla Fahmie)

It is difficult to think of anyone who had such a pervasive influence on the profession of actuarial science. I thought that Dan was a Prince of a fellow! We will all miss him, but his legacy, both professional and personal, will live on. Dave
