I'll always remember John as one of the gate keepers to Union Hill Lane growing up when we were playing outside and as the bearer of Fran's delicious Christmas cookies whenever I was visiting my parents. We didn't always speak but it was a comfort to know he was there watching us growing up. I'll miss him...

To Johnny, Frankie, and Fran, the Carroll family. John influenced me as a child. My father wasn't into playing sports, but I remember learning about basketball, baseball, playing catch with him and Johnny. I remember all the good times as child playing outside. My first and ever only fishing trip was by the creek in Hazlet with them. I will miss him dearly. Our prayers are with you all. He left a great legacy - 2 sons and taught them well - both whom helped my mother and father when they were ill. I'm forever grateful to him.

When I think of john, I think of all the times he would be outside with his cup of coffee and cigarette getting ready to mow the lawn on a beautiful sunny day. He would always make sure to mow ours when he knew ray didn't have the time. John was a wonderful man would always be there to help us anytime we needed it. Ray recalls all the times he had to borrow tools from John. Knowing John had every tool in his garage. My kids loved him, would look out the window as soon as the lawn mower went on. John would look up at the window and wave. Telling them to come next door for lollipops. We all send our condolences to the family in this difficult time. Love always (the neighbors) Dombroski family
