Obituary of Peter P. DeLuise
It is with great sadness that the family of Peter P. DeLuise, 63, announce his passing on April 21, 2020, due to complications of the Covid-19 virus. Pete was the 3rd of 7 children born to Peter and Joan DeLuise of Bayville, NJ.
Pete was born in Jersey City and grew up in Rutherford. He attended St. Mary’s Grammar and High School – Class of 1974 and is a graduate of Fairleigh Dickinson University. He was a gifted and talented athlete who played football, baseball and basketball. Some of his greatest stories were of his years at St. Mary’s.
He was a devoted son, brother, uncle, and friend and was always the first to think of others. He will be remembered fondly for his kindness and generosity.
He was the former owner of The Ice Man of NJ.
Pete was an avid Giants & Mets fan. Spending time with family and friends was what he valued most.
He is survived by his loving parents, Peter and Joan DeLuise of Bayville, his siblings, Judy and Rich Pomo of Cedar Grove, Linda Burns and late husband Bill of Aberdeen, Tom and Cathy DeLuise of Prosper, TX, Mary and Tom Critelli of Holmdel, Jim DeLuise and wife Jennifer of Glen Rock and Chris DeLuise of Toms River. He was the proud uncle of 11 nieces and nephews, their spouses and his great-nephew, as well as loved by many cousins. A memorial service and celebration of his life is to be held at a later date.
