Part IV: I believe Mama and Pal's family was their to greet him at the Gates of Heaven, as I believe this is only a temporary state and greater things lie ahead. A life with no pain and life that will last forever under the gracious of God. Pal has gone home and their is another Angel in Heaven to look down on us, but always remember the teachings of our elders for they are the very foundation of what our family is based on. I often draw off of their teachings in my life and remember the good times with them. However I look back on those times and say they went too fast, but they are memories that will last me until I move on one day. So for now we say good bye to a grandfather, a friend and yes a generation.

Part III As for Edward 'Pal' Hamilton what can you say he was a man who lived the way he wanted to live, ate what he wanted, did not watch his health and in the end died on his own terms. A man who lived by "If you owe someone a dime, and have a dime and a nickel, pay them the dime and live off the nickel". Pal will always be Pal to me and with his death the torch has officially been passed and our parents are now the older statesmen.

Part II So lets look back as here were four people, who had hardly the opportunities their children and grandchildren have today. When a single dollar was like a ten dollar bill today and if something cost twenty dollars that was like a hundred today. Not to mention they purchased cars for three thousand dollars and today we are lucky that would be enough for a down payment or 6 months of payments. They lived in small apartments, shared rooms/clothes etc with their siblings, home ownership was unheard of. This was a generation who lived the American Dream as they fought through difficult times and worked an honest day for pay just to put food on the table. A generation that I admire, respect and will never allow to pass away as it lives in my memory for ever. A lesson we as parents need to teach our kids about so their spirit and memory never dies.

I exceed 100 words so this will be in several parts: Hello, As we deal with a difficult time right now I wanted to share some things with you. Pal, was our last grandparent, a good man, a humble man, a man who worked hard for everything he had and not only a grandparent to us but a friend. I often have said I admired his generation, (Mama, Pal, Grandma and Grandpa) all lived in times of poor economic times, world wars, great depressions, no TV, air conditioning or the simple items we take for granted today.

Dear Dad, I really don't know where to begin,I am so filled up inside that I can't believe you are not here with us anymore. Here on earth always know that you were a good Husband,Father, Grandfather, and great Grandfather, always a good provider and always there to help no matter what, I hope that you know that it was for your own safety and protection that I had no other choice but to put you into the nurseing home. That really broke my heart. Because of the man you were, God really brought you home softly and gave you no pain. My wish is that you are now in God's gentle hands and reunited with Mom. I will be lost without you DAD. Rest in peace I love you.....

Dear Pal, I sit here and I ponder how very much I'd like to talk to you today, There are so many things That we didn't get to say. I know how much you care for us And how much we care for you, And each time that we think of you I know you'll miss us too. Mama came and called your name And took you by the hand and said Your place was ready in Heaven, far above . . . And you had to leave behind, all though you dearly loved. It still seems impossible, that God took you. And though your life on earth is past, n Heaven it starts anew You'll live for all eternity, just as God has promised you. And though you've walked through Heaven's gate We are never far apart you will always stay close in your daughter Jane's and her husband George, 3 grandsons Chris, Michael, and Gregory, and their spouses Christine ,Lisa and Erica + 10 great grandsons, 1 great granddaughters heart!
