Dear Dad, My heart and home seems so empty without you even though you were a quiet man. You never wanted to burden us - and you didn't. You always wanted to give us space and time with our children and grandchildren even though they would come so we could all be together. I can't help but think how every night you would thank me for cooking for you and letting you stay with us because you were so use to being the person who cooked and gave to all of us. I love you so much and was so thankful we had these years together even though I knew you missed mom very much. I know you are so happy in Heaven but my heart aches without you. Your chair is empty - I'm so sad - but I know I will see you and mom again standing right behind Jesus when I come. La pace di Senor.

Some people use many words but say very little.
Some use few words but convey much.
In the 15+ years I knew Joe DeMaio his actions, gestures and short phrases spoke volumes. As a grandson-in-law he immediately treated me as family. Although his most common phrase to me was actually a word, "Eat", it was really an invitation to a personal relationship with the family. It was a subtle lesson on the value of family, keeping them close, sharing time together, giving of the fruits of your labor, and giving thanks to Him from which all good things come.
I remember being at his shore house and asking where "Grandfather Joe was" on a beautiful summer afternoon. I'd hear from his daughter, he's in his room saying his afternoon prayers. More lessons with no words involved - these were: the power of conversing with God, praying in a private place where only God can see you, praying unceasingly, and true faith. All Biblical lessons with no verses actually spoken. This was better then the "best" sermons I've heard, most of which I do not remember a single word from.
It is such a testament to a man to leave a legacy of Godly IMPACT in his children, extended family. and friends. It is really all that matters in life.
I am blessed for having known you Grandfather Joe. I'll never forget how every time I saw you asked how my family and I was doing. I'll never forget these now often lost forms of interpersonal communication.
Thank you so much. Not a goodbye but looking forward to a new banquet with you in a perfect place.
In Sincere Appreciation,
Lorenzo

I remember When uncle Joe would take me and my dad out in the Bay,in four feet of water. We would go in the water, hang on to the boat . And stamp our feet to feel for clams. We’d go back with our bounty.. And Uncle Joe would Make the Best baked Clams Ever.!!! And macaroni and clam sauce.. He had a great sense of humor. And a amazing harmonica player. I’ ll always treasure those Memories..And his unique Voice. Ken DeMaio.

To a man who would always greet you with a handshake and a kiss, toast a glass of wine to Happy Days, and call everyone Harry with a smile. You built your house to retire in to accommodate 3 families and 8 grandkids at the time. Not to enjoy peace and quiet but to enjoy family and have us all close. We will miss you terribly. I will always know God is capable of miracles because your faith showed us so. Dance the lindy with Grandma in heaven as you did in your kitchen-one of many happy memories I will always have to cherish. Love you Grandfather!

Joyce, Lorraine and Judy. I married into the pallotta family when I was very young. Uncle Joe and aunt Faye were my favorite people. Uncle Joe was so handsome and we enjoyed all the meals he prepared when we came to visit. Your family became mine and I have never forgotten you all. May you rest in peace uncle Joe.

Dad, I’m going to miss you much. I had the privilege to cook with you, going to plumbing jobs with you, going to your mom’s house for dinner every week. You taught me how to fish, clamming and crabbing. You always prayed for me and my family. You were truly a man of God. I’m glad you are with mom and all of the family. Till we meet again. Love you. Kiss mom for me.

To my Dad
You were the best father to me.. You loved me unconditionally. You taught me so many things, even plumbing! You worried about me and most important you prayed for me. Life will never be the same without you. My heart is breaking. I miss you so much. I am thankful we had 4 1/2 years together while you lived with us even though we hated for you to leave your Manahawkin home which you loved so much. So many happy memories there. You and mom were the best and I will miss you everyday of my life. Be waiting for me at the Pearly Gates with mom. I love you dad.
