Sal became my best friend when he moved from Boonton to Colts Neck. We walked to the bus every day, rode motorcycles, and laughed. He impacted my life in the important years. Although we lost touch after 14 years of age, he was and will always be a intrical part of my life. He randomly crossed my mind tonight, and I found this obituary. To the Sgroi's, my heart saddened and at a loss for you. I can only pray God has offered some sort of peace to all. DWR

Sal, it breaks my heart that you are gone man. You were like an older brother to me who I looked up to a lot. One of the best human beings I’ve ever met on this earth. I can’t belive your gone. Miss you so much already, you were the only person who gave me a second chance when I came home in 2012 with a job and now my career. Everything I learned in this trade was from you, always there to talk me through my problems with work or personal We both struggled with similar inner demons, n could relate to one another in many ways. I loved you man gunna miss you forever. Thanks for all the laughs n jokes we had and that you have done for me and my family over the years, such as fixing my mother’s heat Xmas morning at 8 am, for free. You are such an awesome person and this world lost such a beautiful soul way l to short, at least your at peace now but know you’ll never be forgotten.
