Obituary of John B. Altomare

John B. Altomare, 83, of the Shady Oaks section of Middletown passed away on Tuesday, August 14th, 2018 at the Riverview Medical Center in Red Bank. Born in Molfetta, Bari, Italy, he served this country as a member of the U.S. Army. John resided in Hoboken, East Orange, East Hanover and Middletown throughout his life. He played trumpet and piano, and had a great passion for music. He was a member of the Hawthorne Caballeros Drum and Bugle Corps for years. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who lived for his family. He will be sorely missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. He was predeceased by his loving wife Josephine in 2011. He is survived by his son Leonard and his wife Susan of Oceanport, three daughters Rose Ann Gaudio and her husband Paul of Lincroft, Grace O’Deven and her husband Joseph of Auburn Hills, MI and Frances Altomare of Belmar, and 6 grandchildren. Visitation will be on Friday, August 17th from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the Holmdel Funeral Home, 26 South Holmdel Road, Holmdel, NJ. A Mass of the Resurrection will be offered on Saturday, August 18th at St. Leo the Great R.C. Church, 50 Hurleys Lane, Lincroft, NJ at 10:00 A.M.
