Obituary of Alexandra K. Ferrara
Alexandra Kate Ferrara, known to family and friends as Alie, passed away peacefully on July 31st after a short illness.
Alie was born in Heidelberg, Germany on March 18th, 1957 to her parents George and Rosa Geiser. Soon after, the Geiser’s migrated to the U.S. and found their way to Cranford, New Jersey, where Alie grew up and graduated from Cranford High School in 1975. She met her best friend/husband, Steven Ferrara, when she was 21 years old and they married in 1979. Alie and Steve have 3 children - Christopher, born in 1981, Danielle, born in 1985, and Alexandria, born in 1996. Among all her various occupations, she helped build and grow the family insurance business so much so that she was considered the “First Lady” of Northeast Planning Corporation. Her passions included being the family and agency event planner, an avid gardener, an inspiring home designer, holiday cook, the family “travel agent”, the rock, and the heart of her family. Alie opened her home with the same warmth and love to everyone, many of whom considered her their second mom, and they were all treated as family by her. In her most recent years she became an avid competitive tennis player in Florida. She loved her Quail Ridge team mates as though they were sisters. Alie’s greatest passion and love was anything and everything that had to do with being together with her husband, children, friends and loved ones. To Alie there was no greater love.
Alie is predeceased by her father and mother, George and Rosa Geiser, her mother-in-law, Marian Ferrara, her father-in-law Alphonse Ferrara, and her beloved son, Christopher Ferrara.
Alie leaves behind her three best friends: her husband Steven, her daughter Dani, and her daughter Alex. Alie also leaves behind her beautiful nieces, Caitlin Comforti and Samantha Geiser.
