World War II Veteran Robert F. Godard, Sr. 89, of Lincroft passed away Friday, February 28, 2013. Born in Long Branch, Robert lived most of his life in Lincroft. Robert was an Army Veteran of World War II having participated in the Invasion of Normandy, and was a Purple Heart Recipient. Mr. Godard has owned several auto body shops in Ocean Township, and enjoyed working on cars in his free time. He was a Lifetime member of the Lincroft First Aid Squad, having served over 50 years. Mr. Godard was predeceased by his wife Helen Godard, daughter Linda Smiley, and brothers Stewart and George Godard. Surviving are his son Robert F. Godard, Jr., daughter Diana Carrdine, sister Gladys Roach, and grandchildren Karalee, Kyle, Rob, Michael, Jessie, and Wyatt. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 2:00 to 6:00PM at the Holmdel Funeral Home 26 South Holmdel Road, Holmdel. Interment will be Wednesday 11:00AM at the Brigadier General William C.
