Obituary of Michael T. Dailey
Michael Thomas Dailey 59, of Holmdel passed away in his sleep on Sunday, June 2, 2013 at home after a courageous battle with heart disease and diabetes. Born on May 21, 1954 at Camp Kilmer, NJ he grew up in New Brunswick before moving to Aberdeen and then Holmdel. Michael attended St. John the Baptist Elementary School, St. Joseph High School, Rutgers University, and Rutgers School of Law. He worked in the insurance industry with Lawyers Professional Liability Claims. He delighted in his family, University of Connecticut women’s basketball, history – especially Gettysburg, and coaching his sons, Bobby and Brian, in various sports. He was particularly proud of his baseball coaching record at Toomer Field in the Matawan-Aberdeen Little League. In 2004, Michael traveled to China to bring back his daughter, Stephanie. He will be remembered for his wit, sense of humor, and his love for his family. Michael was predeceased by his father Robert Thomas Dailey and his brother-in-law, Mark West. Surviving are his wife of 27 years, Kelli West Dailey; two sons Robert and Brian; and his daughter Stephanie all at home; his mother Mary; his in-laws Edward and Madeline West, his sisters Christine of Connecticut and Diane Manley of California; his brother and sister-in-law Edward and Sharon of Ohio; two brothers-in-law, Edward West and his wife Joanne, and Stephen West and his wife Suzanne; many beloved nieces and nephews, and his very dear friends, Marianne Murphy, Robert and Jeannine Edelmann, and Dominique Halaby. Visitation will be held Thursday from 3-5 and 7-9PM at the Holmdel Funeral Home 26 South Holmdel Road, Holmdel. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered Friday 10:00AM at St. Catharine’s R.C. Church 108 Middletown Road, Holmdel.
