I was saddened to read about the passing of Mike Dailey. I had the pleasure of working with Mike at The Home Insurance Company. Our many conversations covered a wide spectrum of subjects in which he invariably revealed his extensive general knowledge, humor and a great fondness of history. I extend my sincere condolences to Mike's family who will be in my prayers!

I had the pleasure of working with Mike at The Home Insurance Company. Congeniality was his hallmark, but the word understates his remarkable gifts for human relations. His humor was a delight and his knowledge of history sparkled his conversations. I mourn his loss and pray for his family. Jim Curwood

I worked with Michael at the Home and knew him as a good man with a generous spirit. Although it is years since we met, I often think about Mike and in fact I was thinking about him just the other day, perhaps at the hour of his passing. As we say in the old country, Ar dheis De go raibh a hanam -- May he sit at the right hand of God.

Growing up a house away from Michael was a great joy. He was like a big brother and always had time for Chris, my sisters and me. I remember shooting baskets in the yard and Michael there willing to help us shoot correctly and playing with us. Michael was a great baseball pitcher. I remember him playing Babe Ruth ball for my dad. He had a great arm. My condolences to the whole family You are all in my prayers.

Dear Kelli and Family, We met Mike in China in 2004 where he told us the trepidations he had about meeting his daughter. Al told Mike that once that little girl puts her arms around him and places her head on his shoulder that all of his worries would be gone and this is what had happened. Carrie and I can still picture this big guy walking down the hallways in China carrying his daughter with her hugging him and holding onto her little container of Cheerios, which no one was going to take away from her. We forever talk about the enjoyment we had at the reunions that your family was so gracious to host. Yes, it is true that Mike's human form has passed on, but the spirit and goodness that was Mike's lies within your family and you will pass his spirit onto your children and their children and their children's children. Mike's spirit and goodness will remain with humanity for all eternal time. We are thankful for the precious times we had with this gentle and caring man.

Growing up, Mike was just Chris big brother who we teased about his girlfriend and who chauffeured us to and from practice. But as young adults, Mike became my friend engaging in conversations about history, current events, books and life in general. He had a great perspective on things and was smart, witty and always kind. Although years and miles made it tough to stay in touch, I was fortunate to occasionally see him in the neighborhood and blessed to have met Kelli and the kids. He will be greatly missed. I know right now I have a whole in my heart. My thoughts, love and prayers go out to the entire family and all those who loved him. Rest in peace, friend.

There are no words to express our deep sadness and loss. Mike was our brother. We truly loved him. A second (often better) father to our children who lived with true humility, an unshakable faith in God, a sharp and hilarious sense of humor, and a man who would do anything to help others. Kelli Bobby Brian and Stephanie have our deepest sympathy and please know we are always here for you. We promise to keep his memory alive. We will attempt to live life successfully by his example.

Mike was a favorite "cousin" to all of us in the West family. He was thoughtful and kind; truly interested in you and your life, so easy to talk to. He carried on his life without needing to be the in spotlight or receive praise; and handled his burdens in a similar fashion. At family gatherings, he would recount a story about someone in the family that passed, bringing fond memories to mind and making us all feel good about the love we felt for that person. We will try to do the same for you dear Mike, for we will miss you greatly. He and Kelli raised three wonderful children with integrity, common sense, faith, and humor. Our prayers are with you all as we mourn with you, celebrate his life and feel so blessed to have had him as a part of our life. I am certain there was a crowd waiting at the gates of heaven for him and know he will watch over us always.
