Obituary of Herbert S. Stein MD
Captain - United States Air Force Dr. Herbert Samuel Stein, a resident of Holmdel and a staff Physician at Riverview Medical Center since 1963, died on December 30, 2012. He was 80 years old. Born in Lancaster, PA.in 1932 to the late Samuel and Sarah L. Stein, he graduated from Franklin and Marshall College in 1954 and went on to receive his Medical Degree from Hahnemann Medical School in 1958. He completed his residency at Albert Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia, PA. He enlisted in the US Air Force in 1960 where he rose to the rank of Captain and completed his service with distinction. In 1964, he established a successful private practice for over 45 years in Middletown, N.J. until his 'semi retirement' where he continued to be an active member of the medical community of Monmouth County, donating much of his time and service to the Parker Family Health Center in Red Bank. A man of great intellect, Dr. Stein was a member of MENSA, who enjoyed classical music, travel, and his family until death. He is survived by his beloved wife Carmel of 31 years, his daughters Linda Stein Sichette, jaybe Stein, Lisa Tesoro, Lynn Tesoro Cardelfe, and Lori Tesoro. His son in laws Michael Cardelfe, and Harry Sichette who he considered sons and his five grandchildren Sam, Anna, Jake, Ella Cardelfe and Mia Tesoro, his loving sister Phyllis Lazarus of Lancaster, PA., his neice Anne Singer, her husband Fred, nephew Scott Lazarus and his wife Mary along with many great and grand neices and nephews.
