Obituary of Helen M. Pote
Helen M. Pote 88, of Hazlet passed away Monday, November 12, 2012 at Bayshore Health Care Center, Holmdel. Helen was employed at Keyport Banking, currently Wells Fargo, for 37 years. During her time at Keyport Banking, she wore many hats and eventually was promoted to Assistant Vice President. She was a member of the Keyport Board of Education for 17 years. During this time she was a member of the Keyport Board of Education, and served 3 years as President of the Keyport School Board. Later she served as the President of the Monmouth County School Board Association. Helen was the first women in 15 years to be elected head of the county organization. During retirement, she volunteered at Riverview Medical Center in Red Bank where she dedicated over 5, 000 hours of service. While volunteering, she also was an active hospital auxiliary member. Helen was a former member of the Juvenile Conference Commission and the County Audio Visual Aids Commission, as well as a member of the National Secretaries Association (Monmouth Chapter), where she also served as President. Helen was predeceased by her brother Earl, and sisters Aileen and Thelma. Surviving are her husband John A. Pote, two sons Gary Pote and his companion Linda, and John Pote and his wife Rebecca, two sisters Mildred and Ruth, and three granddaughters Melissa, Emily, and Chelsea. Visitation will be held Thursday from 2:00 to 5:00PM at the Holmdel Funeral Home 26 South Holmdel Road, Holmdel, with a service being offered in the funeral home at 4:45PM.
