Evelyn M. Thomas, 88, of Hazlet, passed away Friday, September 19, 2014, at Arnold Walter Nursing Home, Hazlet. Born in Jersey City, Evelyn resided at Arnold Walter Nursing Home for the past 2 ½ years. Previously, she lived in Hazlet with her beloved husband, George Thomas, until his passing in 2011. Mrs. Thomas was predeceased by her three brothers, Joseph Olivier, Robert Olivier and Philip DePaul, and sister Leanore Olivier. Surviving is her daughter, Mary Esther Thomas Satterfield, brother, Kenneth Olivier, sister, Florence Mucci, three grandchildren, Benjamin Thomas Satterfield, his wife, Charleen Alcid Satterfield, Kiersten Satterfield Bechtoldt, her husband, Jayme Bechtoldt, and Trevor Thomas Satterfield; five great-grandchildren, Tyne, Ezra, and Kyra Bechtoldt, and Georgiana and Gabriel Satterfield. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 pm, Wednesday, October 15 at Holmdel Funeral Home, 26 South Holmdel Road, Holmdel. A Committal Service will be held 10:30 am Thursday, October 16 at the Holmdel Cemetery.
