Born in the Bronx, Mr. Sloan lived in Riverdale, N.Y. prior to moving to Holmdel 13 years ago. He was employed for many years as a machinist for the New York Daily News, a popular newspaper. He was predeceased by his parents, and a sister Patricia Hughes. He is survived by his sister, Eileen A. Sullivan of Matawan, N.J., four nieces Kristin Clarke, Kerrianne Sullivan, Jeanine Murphy, and Doreen Hughes, two nephews Christopher Hughes and Kevin Hughes.
