Obituary of James Edwin Bartow
James Edwin Bartow, 86 of Holmdel died at his home on Wednesday, January 18th. Mr. Bartow was born and raised in Miller Place, Long Island and settled in Holmdel in 1968. He was a graduate of Rensselaer Poly Tech with a Bachelor's in Engineering. He was an Engineer for the U.S. Army at Fort Monmouth; where he was Deputy Chief Engineer for the 1st Satellite Program for the U.S. Army, as well as several other strategic programs. He enjoyed Bridge and was a Gold Life Master, playing with the Jersey Bridge Club. Mr. Bartow was proud of his flower and vegetable gardens at his home. He served as a Commissioner for the Holmdel Youth Athletic Association and coached for several years while his sons were playing. Surviving is his wife Marie J. Bartow; two sons, Steven and his wife Pawadee Bartow, Holmdel and Rick Bartow, Matawan; and one granddaughter, Daniela. Visitation Saturday, Jan. 21st, 2 to 6 pm at the Holmdel Funeral Home, 26 South Holmdel Road, Holmdel, NJ. Funeral services Sunday, Jan. 22nd, 1 pm at the funeral home.
