Obituary of Mary Ann Yori
Mary Ann (nee Genovese) Yori passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 15, 2012 at the age of 71. She was born and raised in Holmdel and lived there her entire life. She graduated from Keyport High School and Trenton State College and spent her entire teaching career of over 30 years in Holmdel at Village and Indian Hill Schools. She received recognition for her outstanding teaching performance by being nominated by her peers for the honor of Teacher of the Year for the Holmdel District in 1989. She retired from education in 1998. She taught CCD at St. Catharine's Church for a short time after her retirement and also volunteered for Bridges. She was a member of the Holmdel Half Century Club. Mary Ann was predeceased by her parents, Josephine and Peter Genovese; her brothers, Peter and Charles Genovese; her son, Leo Yori Jr and most recently by her husband of 50 years, Leo Yori Sr. She is survived by her son, Greg Yori and his wife Jennifer and their two sons, Max and Hayden Yori. She is also survived by her two granddaughters, Christina and Jessica Yori, her sister Terri Drapczuk and her husband Adam; her brother Frank Genovese and his wife Rose; her sisters-in-law, Marge and Ivy Genovese and Mary Jean Jones and her husband Warren along with her mother-in-law, Cassie Koromi and many nieces and nephews, great neighbors and wonderful friends. Visitation will be held Thursday, April 19, 2012 at Holmdel Funeral Home 26 South Holmdel Road, Holmdel in the evening from 7:00 to 9:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered 9:15AM Friday, April 20, 2012 at St. Catharine's R.C. Church, Holmdel, NJ. Entombment will be in the Holmdel Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donation be made to the Ronald McDonald House 131 Bath Avenue, Long Branch, NJ 07740.
