I was a classmate of Jim's at Our Lady of the Valley. We knew him as "Chick". He was a kind and gentle person even then. My sincere condolences to his family.

Dear Kennedy Family, I was so sorry to read about your father's passing. He was my team judge when I worked in the Criminal Division Office at the Monmouth County Court House. My late husband,Michael McDermott was his judiciary clerk for a few years. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you at this sad time.

Our deepest sympathy to your family. We were neighbors to your Grandmother and Grandfather, the nicest couple in the world, and think that your father is probably playing cards with your Grandmother in heaven, a pastime he did many a night after your Grandfather's passing. Don't know if money is exchanged, but if so, he will owe your Grandmother a huge amount as she won most of the time. He was a good son who took the best care of his parents, and an equally good father and grandfather to his family.

To the family of James A. Kennedy, I send my heartfelt condolences. I had the pleasure of being the Judge's law clerk in the 1983-84 term, working in the family court. The Judge was always very nice to me as a boss, and never raised his voice or said a harsh word. I was privileged to have worked for him. Later on, we always joked about the perceived sense of my frugality, which was always good for a laugh. I hope that you find comfort in the days ahead . I am thankful to have had the pleasure of knowing Judge Kennedy. Sincerely, Richard J. Reich, Esq.

Jim was a high school classmate. We shared a lot and he was in our home in bloomfield many times. I saw him in October 2011 at our 50 year reunion. My sister Bernadette and I also saw him by chance in Captiva several years ago.He was a great guy and we had lots of fun together. We will all miss him.

Jim was a good friend and supporter of the Boy Scout troop 331. We suffered together on several cold-weather camping trips. I recall that that our presence was vital for controlling most of the hellions. Jim gave us a a good example by openly praising his son for his leadership roles. Deepest sympathy to James and family,.... Joe LaCava
