Mrs. Maria Cassaniti, 80, of Hazlet, passed away on Sunday, March 11th, 2012. Born in Piedimonte, Sicily, she previously lived in New York and Holmdel. Maria was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. She loved being with her family. She was predeceased by her husband Antonio in 1986. She is survived by her children – her son Joseph of Port St. Lucie, Fl., her daughter Maria and her husband Michael J. Murphy of Lords Valley, PA., by her grandchildren Michael A. Murphy and his fiancée Megan, Matthew Murphy, Katie Murphy, Joseph, James, Andrew and Thomas Cassaniti, and by a sister Tina and two brothers Domenico and Turido in Sicily. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 at the funeral home. A Mass of Christian burial will be offered for Maria on Wednesday, at 10:00AM, at St. Benedict R.C.Church, 165 – Bethany Road, Holmdel. Interment will then follow in the family plot at the Rose Hills Memorial Park, in Putnam Valley, New York
