Obituary of James L. Laude
James L. Laude, 75, of Lincroft died peacefully at home on Sunday with his caregiver Paulette Whyte. He was born in Dubuque, Iowa and living in Rock Island, Illinois. He spent most of his life as a Lincroft resident. He earned a BS degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Illinois and a MS degree in Systems Engineering and Operations Research from the University of Pennsylvania. He retired after working forty years in telecommunication research at Bell Labs, Bellcore, and AT&T. Mr. Laude has been an active board member of the Lincroft Senior Housing Corp. since 2008, and also served on the Middletown Environmental Commission for several years. Many years of volunteer work including The Monmouth Museum, Middletown Republican committee and the Monmouth County Arts Council. Following his passion for flowers, he was a charter member of the Rutgers's Master Gardeners of Monmouth County, class of 1999. He was a very active member and passed V.P. and Chairman and founder of By-Laws/Policies and Procedures. Mr. Laude was predeceased by his wife Judith K. Laude, his parents Claire H. and Lucille A. Laude; and his sister Janet L. Frey. Surviving are his son and daughter-in-law James and Stephanie Sanford Laude of Little Silver , his daughter and son-in-law Jennifer L. and Alan R. Roussell of Oakhurst, and four grandchildren ; Aiden and Julia Roussell , Brett and Carleigh Laude. Also surviving are his sister Marilyn J. Ptacek, his brother Donald Laude, and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9PM at the Holmdel Funeral Home 26 South Holmdel Road, Holmdel. A funeral service will be offered in the funeral home on Friday at 11:00AM. Interment will be in Fair View Cemetery, Middletown, NJ.
