Obituary of Louis A. DiBarba
Louis A. DiBarba, 99, of Freehold died peacefully on Tuesday, May 5, 2015 at Centra State Medical Center, Freehold. Born in Jersey City, Louis has lived in Freehold for the past 44 years. Mr. DiBarba was an Army Veteran of World War II. He proudly served in the 351st Engineers attached to General Patton's 3rd Army in Normandy, Northern France, Rhineland, and bravely fought in the Battle of the Bulge. Louis worked as a Butcher for Torchio Meat Market in Jersey City and Branchport Market in Long Branch. In 2009 Mr. Dibarba participated in an oral history program with the National Guard Militia Museum of New Jersey, which helped preserve history for future generations. That information is now in the Library of Congress Veterans History Project in Washington, DC. Louis was predeceased by his wife Angela DiBarba in 2006, his four brothers Albert, Dimi, Reggie, and John, and his three sisters Annette, Dolly, and Anna. Surviving are his three children Joanne Fillweber, Elaine Kearney, and Robert DiBarba and his wife Sheree, his two sister-in-laws Phyllis Marchesano and Patricia Mastromonico, and his three precious grandchildren Suzanne Tessalone and her husband Michael, and Lauren and Allison DiBarba. Visitation will be held Thursday from 3:00 to 9:00PM at the Holmdel Funeral Home 26 South Holmdel Road, Holmdel. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered Friday 10:00AM at St. Robert Bellarmine R.C. Church 61 Georgia Road, Freehold. Entombment will be in the Holmdel Cemetery, Holmdel.
