I am very sad to read of John’s passing. I know him from St. Mary’s Church when he came in to vote. I’m a poll worker. I always looked forward to seeing him. He would always hang out awhile, and talk with us and joke around. Loved his sense of humor...very funny guy. He will be sorely missed. God Bless you, John. Rest In Peace.

So many memories from all the way back! Deck Building parties every summer with all of our parents, John's coat hangar divining rods to find the septic tank, baseball on their side yard and the little ice pond he built in the back yard for us kids to play on. Later, all those years running into him around town or at the Lions breakfasts. Always had a great (and many times corny) joke he'd deliver as if he was absolutely serious while setting up the punch line.
You always knew the Fair was coming when he would round up the Lions two weeks before to set up the hole in one over the lake!!
A life well lived..

John was such a happy and kind person. I will always remember all his hard work and generosity at Saint Mary. He had such a warm smile to share with everyone.

John was always so kind to me when I worked at St. Mary Parish. He used to call me "cuz' as we had a mutual friend, so to John, we were related! I loved when he dressed up as St. Nick!!! You could count on him for anything. He will be dearly missed.

Each encounter with Mr. Grabowski, either at St. Mary's, Green Meadows, Colts Neck Sports fields, town meetings, or passing each other in the parking lot at the post office, was a true pleasure. Most of the time my Sons were with me and when we departed I would tell them, "that is the type of person I want you to strive to be. Mr. Grabowski is a true Friend and person to look up to."
Thank you John for being an example of what a Gentleman should be.
