Raymond Sabbagh

Obituary of Raymond George Sabbagh

Raymond George Sabbagh, 75, of Freehold died on Monday, April 6.  He was born in 1944 to the late Alice and John Sabbagh in Queens, NY.

Together with his family, Raymond left Queens and moved to Brooklyn, NY at a young age.  As the baby of the family, he made his presence known with his mischievous behavior and strong personality.  Even as a child, he understood the importance of family.

Raymond’s door was always open for anyone who needed it; it didn’t matter who you were, he was always around when you needed him.

He enjoyed driving, especially his trips to Atlantic City and Monmouth Park.  He was always ready for a good time with his spontaneous and spur of the moment trips, he took with his wife and daughters.

Raymond loved to play cards, and bet on the horses down at the racetrack. He had a deep love for music, and you could always find him listening to his music, especially his oldies, in the car or at home very, very loud.  Raymond worked as a pattern maker for the garment industry, and had a love for bridal design and fashion.

He is survived by his wife and soulmate of over 50 years, Marie Sabbagh; three daughters Susan and her husband Nick Bechlivanis, Brooklyn, Allison and her husband, Micheal Riggi, Brooklyn, and Louise and her husband Omar Arias, Brooklyn. His sister Eleanor Sabbagh and six loving grandchildren: Loukas, Maria, Savannah, Micheala, Christian, and Cameron.

His sister Alice Joan Gorayeb joined him in eternal peace, only one day later.

Due to the recent outbreak of the COVID-19 virus all services will be private.  There will be a memorial and celebration of his life as soon as it is safe to do so.  At this difficult time for his family, please consider a message of condolence for Raymond by visiting his page of tributes at www.holmdelfuneralhome.com.
