Obituary of Roberta E. Kulesz
Roberta E. Kulesz of Colts Neck passed away on Monday, April 6. She was born at Flower Hospital in New York City to Edith and Robert Faughnan. Roberta grew up in Queens and graduated from Flushing High School and Queens College. She was married to Martin T. Kulesz in 1956.
She was a teacher for much of her life, teaching at United Cerebral Palsy in Long Branch before branching out into real estate. Roberta went back to teaching in 1990 at Marlboro High School until she retired.
She was a devout Catholic and a member of St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church in Colts Neck, NJ. She was also a member of several book clubs, the League of Women Voters and the Traveler’s Club.
She is predeceased by her husband Martin, her brother Douglas Faughnan and her daughter, Mary Williams.
Surviving are her four children: John, and his wife Sharon, of Falls Church, VA, Peg Minervini of Buena, NJ, Robert, and his wife Laura, of Astoria, NY, and Thomas, and his wife Angela, of Neptune, NJ; nine loving grandchildren (Whitney, Lauren, Jack, Greg, Jessy, Joe, Emily, Townsend, and Sydney Rose), and four beloved great-grandchildren (Kaden, Jackie, Theo and Hallie). Also surviving is her sister Virginia O’Sullivan.
Due to the recent outbreak of the COVID-19 virus a memorial gathering and burial of cremated remains at St. Gabriel’s Cemetery will be private. In lieu of traditional remembrances the family asks that you donate in Roberta’s honor to the American Heart Association at www.heart.com or Habitat for Humanity at www.habitatmonmouth.org.
