Dear Ed and Family: My deepest condolences on the recent passing of Joan, your wife and mother. I met Joan many years ago at MCGS when she was a greeter and we quickly became friends. She was always enthusiastic about learning about her ancestry and helping anyone else. I will remember her meeting me at the 2006 NGS Conference in Chicago to take word processing and court records classes to help us organize our research and learn more about obtaining records. I also remember Ed and Joan taking me out to a restaurant that they loved in the Glenview, IL area during that conference. I will also remember our recent German SIG meeting at the NY Public Library. Joan had made special arrangements for our group and we all had the chance to further our research. She was always smiling and laughing and just enjoying herself. I will miss her friendship greatly.
