Leonila Sapida Frani, affectionately known as 'Nanay Nene' amongst her family and friends, passed away at the age of 87 at Bayshore Community Hospital in Holmdel, NJ on Wednesday morning, November 12, 2014. Born and raised in Imus, Cavite, Philippines, Nanay moved to New Jersey in 1978 with her husband Epifanio, with whom she is now finally reunited over 32 years after his passing in 1982. A devout Christian and parishioner of Holmdel Community United Church of Christ, Nanay loved so many things about life, like her famous cooking, visits home to the Philippines and TFC, but her true driving passion was her family. She is survived by 4 siblings, Gene, David, Lydia and Eliseo, daughter Solita, sons Efren, Emer, and Milan, 14 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, and the hundreds of others who love and consider her as their grandmother. Visitation will be on Friday, November 14 from 4:00 to 9:00 PM at Holmdel Funeral Home, 26 South Holmdel Road, Holmdel, NJ. A funeral service will be offered on Saturday at 10:30 AM also at Holmdel Funeral Home. Interment will then follow at Holmdel Cemetery, 900 Holmdel Rd.
