Obituary of Patricia M. Buono

Patricia M. Buono, 83, of Holmdel passed on Wednesday September 18th at home surrounded by her loving family and a lifetime of cherished memories.

Patricia was born and raised in Newark NJ. After graduating from West Side High School she married Alexander Buono. The two would move to Hazlet but ultimately settled in Holmdel to raise their young family. She was a caregiver to her husband who was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis shortly after their marriage. Patricia was a deeply spiritual woman who prayed hand in hand with her husband daily. She was a dog lover mindful of the joy they contributed to her family. Her fondness of decorating, planting and antiquing added to the warmth and love she surrounded her home and family with.

She is predeceased by her loving husband of 60 years; Alexander Buono, her parents Dominic and Julia Villanova, her sister and best friend, Ann Schiavino, her mother-in-law and father-in-law Alberico Buono and Rose Buono, her sister-in-law Angela Linarducci and husband Joseph Linarducci.

She is survived by her children Karen Power and her husband Daniel Power of Hazlet, Alex Buono of Lincroft, Michael Buono and his wife Patricia Buono of Wall Township, her sister in-law Carmela Hergenrother and her husband Reinhardt Hergenrother of Colts Neck, her cherished grandchildren, Christopher, Andrew and Joseph and many loved nieces and nephews.

The visitation will be Tuesday, September 24th from 4:00-8:00 PM at the Holmdel Funeral Home, 26 South Holmdel Road, Holmdel. A mass of Christian burial will take place Wednesday, September 25th at 9:15 am at Church of St. Catharine, 108 Middletown Road, Holmdel. Followed by a burial at St. Catharine's Cemetery, 1100 W. Chicago Boulevard, Sea Girt.  

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Patricia’s name to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital Foundation.
