Obituary of Marilyn "Cookie" Stesner

Marilyn ‘Cookie’ Stesner passed in peace on Sunday, August 25, 2019 at the age of 85 in her home of many years in Morganville, New Jersey.

Survived by her loving husband, Vincent M. Stesner for sixty-four years of an unconditional marriage. Cookie was the mother of five children and is also survived by; her daughter Beth Cox, her husband Gregory Cox and son Taylor, daughter Robin Grimaldi, her husband Joseph Grimaldi and children Michael and Shannon; her son David Stesner, his wife Deanna Filippo-Stesner and children  Shane and Blake; her sister Andrea Schiavoni and husband John. She is predeceased by her son Michael Stesner and daughter Barbara Cawley with surviving daughters Brittany and Mallory.

Cookie was born in Jersey City, New Jersey on March 28, 1934 to Elizabeth and Andrew Stahl.  She raised her beautiful family in Holmdel, New Jersey for over thirty years before moving to Morganville. Cookie was career driven and received her real estate license while successfully working at Weichert Realtors for over twenty years. She then went on to retire to become a lovely homemaker and devoted grandmother who was known as Nanny. She enjoyed hosting holidays and gatherings at her beautiful home with her family and friends and she was a remarkable cook. Cookie had a divine passion and artistic skill for interior design that amazed everyone around her.

Her intelligence and wittiness, her sense of humor, and her unconditional love for her family and friends will be dearly missed. Our heart breaks with our loss but she left us with beautiful memories that will guide us through life and last forever. An angel from earth is now in the heavens above. 

Visitation will be Wednesday, August 28th from 2:00 to 4:00 pm and again from 7:00 to 9:00 pm at Holmdel Funeral Home, 26 South Holmdel Road, Holmdel, NJ.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered Thursday, August 29th beginning at 10:00 am in St. Gabriel’s RC Church, 100 North Main Street, Marlboro, NJ with Entombment following at Holmdel Mausoleum, Holmdel, NJ.
