A flower blossomed in the desert in the form of the Southern Nevada Alumni Association chapter, and it took root through the help of Don Jordan and his dedicated alumni office staff. Don was a staunch supporter of the chapter’s successful efforts to bring together alumni, family, and friends of CCNY living in Nevada, for fun and entertaining events, as well as to raise scholarships for deserving but needy students. The chapter sends its sincerest condolences to the family of our steadfast friend.

It is impossible to calibrate the enormous positive effect that Don has had on The City College - nor is it possible to count the number of staff, professors, students, Alumni, and people of all Stripes that owe Don Kevin Jordon an enormous amount of respect and gratitude - I am first among them !

My family and I are deeply saddened by the death of our true friend, Don Jordan. Don and I worked closely together for over eight years while I served as President of CCNY. He was always incredibly supportive of the work we did together to make The City College the best we could be. He provided great advice and counsel regarding our alumni and was a tremendous source of information about the college. He truly loved the college and left his imprint on the college. Our hearts go out to Don’s family whom he dearly loved and we hope that they feel blessed with the memories of their time with him as we do.

Don was an incredible supporter of The City College and its alumni constituency. His enthusiasm and dedication were boundless, his energy infectious and his joy abundant as he celebrated the successes of students at awards dinners, alumni achievements and the accolades of both faculty and his colleagues, especially those he worked closely with on the Alumni Association and various Boards.
I am personally indebted to Don for encouraging me to get involved in re-energizing the Architecture Alumni Group. Don gave me the confidence, guidance and support to take on a leadership role, and be part of the wonderful lifeblood of the Alumni Association. I will forever miss Don’s joyful laugh, his wit and wisdom - and most of all his friendship.

He and Maria will always remain our dearest friends.We shared over 50 years of wonderful adventures including Broadway shows , numerous dinners in each of our homes and favorite restaurants, exciting vacations together, milestones in all of our lives, and too many shared laughs to count. We could always expect a call from Donald the morning after the Academy and Tony Awards! Lisa, Neil, and Jenn grew up together and have so many loving, and often humorous, memories to hold dear. Don has been a great friend and advisor to our Asian Alumni group of the City College Alumni Association.

I’ve only known Don for a short while. As a new board member of the CCNY Asian Alumni group, I found Don to be a strong leader and a dedicated professional. I greatly saddened to learn of Don’s passing. I have great memories of working with Don when he was with Boys Clubs of America. Whether it was on the National Keystone Club program and conferences or the National Program Advisory Committee, he always made sure that we had a good time and addressed the issues before us. I will always remember the Keystone Conference Committee going to dinner in Philadelphia and Don cutting it short so he could get back to see the Oscars. He was a uniquely talented man with a great sense of humor. And, most importantly, a good friend. I send my sincere condolences to the family. May he Rest In Peace.

As a CCNY graduate with the clas of ‘61, I was a member of the alumni association, but it was not until 2010 when meeting with Don, that I was inspired to start a CT Chapter. With Don’s encouragement and love of the school, I further increased my dedication and support of CCNY. Don was a person who I looked to who was always there for support and encouragement. Don will be sorely missed.

Words can't describe the loss of such a big presence as Uncle Donald. And, if you are thinking of your memories of him, you can't help but feel a deep respect, and then a huge laugh at all of your stories with him. He had an enormously giving heart, and was always looking to have the next adventure. As a kid, he would bribe us with a 'special treat' to go on an adventure, so he would have company on errands, and true to his word, would bring us for Stewart's raspberry shakes. We would fall for a raspberry shake and a special adventure every time. He shared his love of the beach, and many summer nights would stay at the beach watching the sunset reading the paper and playing in the ocean. We never knew when the next adventure or the next movie would be. What we did know was that it would be a good time with tons of laughs. He had bad jokes and that made it even funnier. He loved us all, and we knew it. His love for his work was unparalleled, and he achieved great successes. There will be no one else like you, Uncle Donald. I am proud that you thought of me as your honorary second daughter. You were like a father. May you rest in peace. Love you, Gina.
