Obituary of Carolyn Thomas Brink
Carolyn Thomas Brink (nee: Grimley), 76, and resident of Ohio, passed away Saturday, December 15, 2012, at her home surrounded by her family following a lengthy battle with cancer. Carolyn was born January 18, 1936 in South Amboy, New Jersey where she was raised and graduated from St. Mary's High School in South Amboy. Amherst, Ohio has been her home for the last 28 years. Carolyn was employed at the Lorain County Community College in Ohio as an Administrative Associate retiring in 2002. She was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Amherst. Carolyn enjoyed spending time with her family, knitting, crocheting, quilting, reading, playing word games, and rug hooking. Feeding and observing the birds was also a favorite pastime. Survivors include her husband Jim Brink of 36 years; sons David (Elaine) Thomas of New Jersey, Ken (Tanya) Thomas of Ohio, Jimm (Chris) Brink of North Carolina, Chris (Chrissy) Brink Sr. of Ohio; daughters Karen (Marco Cutrone) Thomas of Denville, New Jersey, Jacqui Thomas of Ohio; grandchildren Amanda, David, Cadence, Christopher, Jasmina, William, and Alexia; and a brother Chris (Nell) Grimley of Virginia Carolyn was preceded in death by her first husband of 15 years George Thomas in 1973; and parents Christopher and Anna Elizabeth Grimley (nee: Peterson). Friends may call Friday, December 21, 2012, from 5-8 p.m. at the Holmdel Funeral Home 26 South Holmdel Road, Holmdel, New Jersey. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered 10:00 a.m. Saturday, December 22, 2012 at Saint Benedict R.C. Church 165 Bethany Road, Holmdel. Burial will follow in Saint Joseph Cemetery, Keyport. The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Meister Road Group Home, 4609 Meister Road, Lorain, Ohio 44053.
