John A. Gianguzzi, Sr. of Morganville, NJ passed away on January 3, 2015 at the age of 73. He was born in Astoria, NY on December 28, 1941. John graduated St. John's University with a Bachelor's Degree. He met his wife, Barbara, while taking additional courses at Wagner College, SI, NY. Together they spent most of their early lives in New York City and moved their family to Monmouth County in the early 1970's. John was a passionate and dedicated H.S. Science teacher for the parochial and public schools of NYC for over 35 years. Upon his retirement, John spent his free time woodworking, vacationing with his family in the Poconos, and enjoying the great outdoors. John was a devoted family man and most enjoyed spending quality time with his wife and children at the family farm. He will forever be immortalized by his wife and children as a modern day Renaissance Man and their hero. John is survived by his wife Barbara L. Gianguzzi, sons John A. Jr., Peter S. & wife Melissa, Anthony J. & wife DeAnna, Joseph V. & wife Nicole; daughters Barbara J. and Annamaria L. He is also survived by his two granddaughters, Gianna and Annabelle. Services will be held at Holmdel Funeral Home, 26 South Holmdel Rd. Holmdel, NJ 07733. Visitation is on Wednesday, January 7, 2015 from 4pm-8pm. The funeral mass will take place Thursday, January 8, 2015 at 10am at the Church of Saint Gabriel, 100 N. Main St, Marlboro, NJ 07746 with a private memorial service for immediate family. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in his name be made to the Robertsville Volunteer Fire Company and sent to: Robertsville Volunteer Fire Company; Attn: Office of the Chief, 94 Route 520, Morganville, NJ 07751.
