Obituary of Margaret Mona De Carlo
Margaret Mona De Carlo of Colts Neck and Lavallette, New Jersey passed away at her daughter's home in Colts Neck on Friday, October 7, 2011. Born in Naples, Italy on July 20, 1916, the daughter of Vincenzo and Angela Mona, she came to America in 1918. Margaret was a resident of Hasbrouck Heights, NJ for over 50 years. While living there she was a member of the Corpus Christi Church, Girls Scout Town Council Member, Executive Board of the Girl Scouts Council International, Adult Advisory Board Member for the CYO, CCD Teacher, Printing Accounting Club of NY. Mrs. De Carlo and her husband John established and developed Panoramic Litho Plate, Inc. in New York City in 1957. She published her first book: 'Rivers of Fortitude' a story of her generations past. The book was registered in the Library of Congress, Washington, DC in 2001. After moving from Hasbrouck Heights, she became a member of St. Gabriel's Parish in Marlboro and St. Padre Pio in Lavallette. She was predeceased by her husband John Anthony De Carlo, a sister Anna, and a brother Edward. Margaret is survived by her three children; Ann, Patricia, and Anthony, 4 grandchildren; Margaret, Mary, Marjorie, and Michael, and 3 great grandchildren; John Kavanagh, and Titus and Steel De Carlo Sherlock. Visitation will be held Monday from 2-4 and 7-9PM at the Holmdel Funeral Home 26 South Holmdel Road, Holmdel. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered Tuesday 11:00 AM at St. Gabriel's R.C. Church, Rt. 79N, Marlboro. Entombment will be in St. Gabriel's Cemetery Rt. 520, Marlboro.
