Obituary of Ruth Marie Smith

Ruth Marie Smith, 93, of Mooresville, passed away on Friday, May 24, 2019 at The Laurels of Salisbury.

She was born on March 5, 1926 in Nanticoke, PA, to the late Russell and Viola Uren Van Fossen.  Mrs. Smith moved to Mooresville in 2007 and volunteered at Lake Norman Regional Medical Center until 2017.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Willard Smith.  She is survived by her daughter, Judy Carratello and husband, Mickey; grandchildren, Gianna Keller and husband, Barnaby, Arin McClune; and great grandchildren, Jack and Abigail Keller, Emmerson and Adelyn McClune.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, May 28 from 5:00 – 7:00 PM with a funeral service following at 7:00 PM at Cavin-Cook Funeral Home Chapel with Eddie Karriker officiating.  A graveside service will by held at 11:00 AM on Friday, May 31 at Holmdel Cemetery in Holmdel, NJ.
