Obituary of Rose Chiaia
Rose Chiaia, 88 of Manhattan passed away at her home on Monday May 6th. Rose was born and raised in Brooklyn where she met Caesar and they fell in love and got married in 1953. They were the loves of each other’s lives.
Rose had four beautiful children and raised them in Brooklyn. Rose loved many things; cooking, knitting traveling, socializing with her friends and her most favorite, Christmas Eve!! Her true passion was being with her grandchildren whom she loved dearly.
She was a devout Catholic and very involved in St. Benedict Roman Catholic Church.
Rose is predeceased by her husband Caesar Michael Chiaia, her brother and sister Steve Cotrone and Angie Cotrone, her son-in- law James Alfano and her granddaughter Nicole. She is survived by her children Mary Anne Alfano of Fanwood, Phyllis and her husband Frank Savio of Hazlet, Michael and his wife Robin Chiaia of Brooklyn, and Theresa Chiaia of Manhattan. her cousin Phyllis Tedeschi, her sister-in-law Carmel Hehn, and her beloved grandchildren James, Nicholas, Michael, Stephen, Andrew, Matthew, Taylor and John.
Visitation will be Thursday May 9th 9:15-10:30 am at the Holmdel Funeral Home, 26 South Holmdel Road, Holmdel. A Mass of Christian burial will follow at 11:00 am at St. Benedict Roman Catholic Church, 165 Bethany Road, Holmdel. Burial in Holmdel Cemetery.
