Obituary of John W. Waldron
Rev. John W. Waldron 87, of Aberdeen passed away Thursday, May 9, 2013 at the NJ Veterans Memorial Home in Menlo Park, NJ. Rev. Waldron was a 1952 graduate of Denison University, Granvile OH, and a 1956 graduate of Andover Newton Theological School , Andover-Newton, MA. He was the former Pastor of Memorial Community Church, East White Plains, NY and Pastor Emiretus of Holmdel Community United Church of Christ, Holmdel for 24 years, retiring in 1990. He was a Navy Veteran of World War II, and founder of Pleasant Valley Adult Day Care Center, the first adult day care center in Monmouth County. Rev. Waldron was predeceased by his son Jeffrey Waldron in 2009, brother Paul L. Waldron, and two sisters Eleanor Hampton and Emma C. Santo. Surviving are his wife of 64 years Marjorie C. Waldron, son John C. Waldron and his wife Joanne, daughter Leah Ann Waldron, daughter-in-law Gail E. Waldron, and six grandchildren Nicole, Kaes, Aaron, Leah, Caileen, and Jessalyn. Visitation will be held Sunday from 4:00 to 7:00PM at the Holmdel Funeral Home 26 South Holmdel Road, Holmdel. A funeral service will be held Monday 11:00AM at the funeral home. Interment will be in Holmdel Community Church UCC Cemetery, Holmdel Memorial donations would be appreciated in Rev. Waldron’s memory to the Eastern Christian Children’s Retreat, 700 Mountain Avenue, Wyckoff, NJ 07481.
