Obituary of John C. Butterfield

John "Cort" Butterfield, 88 of Holmdel died at the Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank.

Cort was retired as a Sales representative for the Singer Furniture Co.

He and his wife Pat enjoyed many cruises. He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Marine Corp. serving in the Korean Conflict. He was proud of his Hoboken roots, but loved the Jersey Shore, notably fishing on the beach, Monmouth Park and Atlantic City.

Cort was pre-deceased by his wife, Patricia Butterfield who died in 2010.

Surviving are their four children, John and Roseann Butterfield, Allentown, Michele Butterfield, Holmdel, Bill and Ruthann Butterfield, Newtown, PA and Bob and Amy Butterfield, Channhasen, MN; is siblings, Dorothy Carpenter, West Long Branch and Kenneth and Carol Butterfield, Highland, NY; four grandchildren, Cortland Butterfield, Patrick Butterfield, Christian Butterfield and Brandon Butterfield.

Entombment services with Marine Corp. honors, Friday, Feb. 1st, 11 am , Holmdel Mausoleum, Holmdel and Roberts Road, Holmdel.
