Obituary of Salvatore Nici

Salvatore Nici, 97 of Toms River died at the Atrium on the Navesink on Saturday Jan. 26th. 

Mr. Nici lived in Queens until moving to Toms River in 1994. He retired after 30 years of service to the NYPD as a Detective. Sal also owned a paint business, that mixed colors for the garment industry in New York City. He enjoyed tinkering and fixing anything that needed to be done, especially electrical issues. Following moving to Toms River he enjoyed playing golf.

His great pleasure was being a part of his grandchildren's lives, being at family holiday gatherings where it was always his responsibility to carve the turkey. 

He is survivied by his wife of 72 years Justina Nici; two sons and daughters-in-law, John B. Nici and his wife Judith, Queens and Richard Nici and his wife Janet, Holmdel; two brothers Joseph and Frank Nici; his four grandchildren, Laura Nici, James Nici, Andrew Nici and his wife Hannah and Karen and her husband David Talarico.

Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Friday, Feb. 1st, 9:30 am at St. Mary's RC Church, 1 Phalanx Road, Colts Neck. Interment with Military honors will follow at New Jersey Veterans Cemetery, Wrightstown.
