Adrienne Nitti

Obituary of Adrienne M. Nitti

Adrienne M. Nitti, 73, of Farmingdale, went to be with the Lord Sunday, January 27th, 2019.

Adrienne was born July 22nd, 1945 to her parents Faye and Edward Mortillaro and grew up with her brother Joseph in Yonkers, NY. Adrienne had a Catholic upbringing, attending St. Barnabas in the Bronx throughout grade-school, which shaped her devout religious beliefs throughout her life.

She married the love of her life, Thomas R. Nitti on May 8th, 1966.  Together they moved out to their warm home on Pittoni Drive in Commack, Long Island and created a family built on a vision of stability, respect, love, and laughter.  Adrienne was the loving mother to Tom and Karen and their dog Buddy and she cherished them with all her heart.

With their children grown, Adrienne and Tom moved to Plymouth, MA before settling in Farmingdale, NJ eight years ago.  Adrienne has been a very active member of her community and was especially proud of two charitable groups she helped found.  The Knit-Wits is a charity knitting group that makes blankets and hats for infants at local hospitals and Ornaments for Charity holds bazaars where proceeds raised benefit local charities.  Adrienne was also a parishioner of St. Catherine of Siena, Farmingdale.

Adrienne's passions included her knitting, awaiting the arrival of hummingbirds to her window every spring, playing the slot machines, traveling, and especially cruising.  The highlights of her cruising days were their trips to Alaska and the Mediterranean.

Adrienne’s greatest passion though was her family.  She loved seeing the life her son, Tom, and his wife, Jane, built in Key West, FL.  It meant the world to her that she was able to live so close to her daughter, Karen, and her husband, Bob.  Above all else, she adored her grandchildren.  She was so incredibly proud of them and each of their unique personalities and talents.  She loved to see Mark horseback riding, to hear Isabella sing in her shows, to watch Jessica dance at her recitals, and could not wait to view the next film created by TJ.

Surviving Adrienne is her husband of 52 years, Thomas R. Nitti; her children Thomas & Jane Nitti of Key West, FL and Karen & Bob Moitoso of Holmdel; her brother & sister-in-law Joseph & Ginny Mortillaro, her brother-in-law Leonard Nitti, and her four grandchildren TJ, Jessica, Isabella & Mark.
