Obituary of Michael Charles Coleman

Michael Charles Coleman, 73, of Ocean Township formerly of Colts Neck, passed away peacefully at Jersey Shore Medical Center on Sunday, January 13, 2019.

Born in Jersey City, Michael spent his childhood in Colts Neck. He was a graduate of Christian Brothers Academy and Michigan Technological University where he earned his Bachelor of Science in Physics. He was later employed by the State of New Jersey working in Information Technology.

Michael was an avid reader and had an interest in learning languages.  He enjoyed dining out, shopping, technology and computers. Growing up in Colts Neck he developed an appreciation for nature and being outdoors, but his real joy was spending time with his family.

Michael is predeceased by his father and mother Charles F. and Helen Coleman. He is survived by his sisters Patricia A. Green and Barbara Lynn Coleman, his nieces Leanne Green and her partner Karen Geist, Lori Schrider and her husband Eric, Lisa Strausbaugh and her husband Thomas, his great-nephews Nicholas, Charles, and Eric and great-nieces Emily and Eliana.

A visitation will be held from 7:00-9:00 PM on Friday, January 18^th, 2019 at the Holmdel Funeral Home, 26 South Holmdel Road, Holmdel. A mass of Christian burial will be held at 10 AM on January 19^th, 2019 at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, 1 Phalanx Road, Colts Neck followed by his burial at Old Tennent Cemetery, 454 Tennent Road, Manalapan, NJ.
