Obituary of Patricia A. Pecoraro
Patricia A. Pecoraro, age 42 of Colts Neck, passed away unexpectedly on January 8, 2019.
Patricia was known to family, and most friends, as “Favorite Aunt”. Whether you were a blood relative or not, she would easily become your most trusted confidante and right arm. She was the most selfless, thoughtful, beautiful, kind, giving, generous and trustworthy person. To know her made you want to be a better person. She made the most of everyday and knew not only how to work hard, but have fun. Patricia was more special than these words can fully communicate.
Patricia was born in Red Bank and raised in West Long Branch. She attended Shore Regional High School. At Shore Regional, Patricia was an incredible athlete lettering 11 times in swimming, cheerleading, and track and field. She loved music and theater and was always involved in the school plays. She also was a life guard in her late teens to early twenties for six years at Ocean Beach Club in Elberon. She then went on to graduate Monmouth University with a Bachelor of Arts degree.
After college, Patricia married Michael Pecoraro, the love of her life. Together they had 2 beautiful daughters; Isabella and Sophia. She loved the one-on-one time with her husband; especially a candlelight dinner, a good glass of wine, times at the club, attending sporting events, vacationing in Delray and taking late night swims. Patricia was happiest spending time with her children – listening to, learning from, and teaching them. She encouraged them to achieve whatever they set their minds to doing, all while guiding them to become the intelligent, kind and caring individuals they are today. All three of them were the loves of her life.
Patricia was a CCD teacher at St. Mary’s Church, where she was also an active parishioner and a part of a bible study group. She served as co-president of the Colts Neck PTO, was class mom every year for her daughters, a teacher’s aide at Winding Brook School, a fundraising director, sponsorship director, computer mom, library mom, and Gala Committee member.Patricia also volunteered at the embrace kids foundation; children who have cancer and sickle cell anemia. She ran a dance marathon to raise money for the charity, volunteered at a Christmas party for kids who weren’t able to go home on Christmas, and served thanksgiving dinner at Robert Wood Johnson Hospital and the Freehold Borough YMCA. Patricia often referred to herself as a professional volunteer. She enjoyed cooking, working out, crocheting and doing crossword puzzles and was an avid reader. She loved broadway shows as well. Her primary passion was her family – be it spending time at home, cheering her daughters on at school or traveling, as long as it was together. Patricia also had many friends who became “chosen family” for whom she cared deeply. Anyone who had the chance to get to know Patricia will no doubt always remain touched by her warmth and kindness.
Patricia is predeceased by her father Gordon Mast, and in-laws Anthony and Vera Pecoraro. She is survived by her mother Susan Mast of West Long Branch; her husband Michael Pecoraro and their two daughters Isabella and Sophia of Colts Neck; her sister and brother-in-law Christine and Michael Haney, and their children Connor and Bryce of West Long Branch; Anthony and Jill Pecoraro and their children Samantha and Connor O’Leary, Powell, Ohio and Melissa Pecoraro of Powell, Ohio; Theodore and Linda Pecoraro and their children Daria and T.J of Warren; and great-nieces Dylan and Reese O’Leary; and her littlest love, dog Millie.
