Obituary of Carl R. Rankl
Carl R. Rankl, M.D. 71, of Holmdel passed away Wednesday, September 7, 2011 at Riverview Medical Center in Red Bank. Born in Nutley, Carl has lived in Holmdel for the past 30 years. Carl received his BA Dergree from Rutgers University in 1962 and his M.D. Degree from Loyola University in 1966. Dr. Rankl worked as a Psychiatrist for 28 years in private practice, and was on the staff of Bayshore and Riverview Hospitals. He was also a Consulting Psychiatrist for Bayshore Youth and Family Services in Matawan, and the Collier School in Wickatunk. Carl grew in strength and faith as a parishioner of St. Catharine's R.C. Church in Holmdel for over 25 years, and the St. Andrew Guild. Surviving are his wife Ann Rankl (nee Maxwell), his 3 sons Carl J. Rankl and his wife Karen, Ted Rankl and his wife Lisa, and Robert Rankl and his wife Torri, 2 sisters Joan Polucki, and Joyce Rankl Kiernan, and 3 grandchildren Kiera, Tyler, and Melissa. Visitation will be held Sunday from 2:00 to 6:00PM at the Holmdel Funeral Home 26 South Holmdel Road, Holmdel. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered Monday 9:00AM at St. Catharine's R.C. Church, Holmdel. Interment will be in the Holmdel Cemetery.
