Maggs family, God bless your father. I hope that he died peacefully. I saw him at St Agnes three times in the one week I was vacationing in Key Biscayne. I pray he is now in God's embrace. I hope you are all celebrating his life as a family. Much affection, Lourdes

To the Family of Dr. Robert Maggs, South Florida Council, Boy Scouts of America wishes to express our condolences and heart felt sympathy. Dr. Maggs was a generous supporter of Scouting in South Florida. He would regularly attend and support our Eagle Recognition Banquet where we recognized over 200 youth annually, that earned this prestigious rank. We thank him for the difference he made in the lives of South Florida's youth.

Bob was a good friend, fine surgeon and fellow traveler. His expertise and personable. professional manner were a great service to the healthcare community. Special memories of our travels around the country in a series of lectures on the changing hospital reimbursement conditions. He was a special friend.

Doctor Bob literally put Key Biscayne on the map! When he and I started the noise abatement effort, we toured the control tower at MIA only to find KB was NOT on their radar!! He persisted and a year later the Island he loved shined like his smile...on MIA radar.

Bob was a good friend of mine. He and I would often meet at the Donut Gallary, go for walks, and chat about the comings and goings in the Village. I so enjoyed our friendship. I will always remember Bob in kindest of ways.

To all of Dr. Maggs' family, friends and loved ones - I am so sorry for your loss. I was shocked and am so saddened by his passing. I saw him just last Monday evening and he was telling me about his holiday travels, showing me the new picture of him and Vicky and pointing out all of the family members in their most recent photos. He was so proud of his family. He was always so kind to me all of these years as a neighbor, mentor and friend. I enjoyed working with him on community projects and having breakfast or lunch to keep in touch. I will greatly miss him.

Dear Friends: My last conversation with our memorable and remarkable friend Bob was about a week ago. We'd had a conversation about the children's book I'd written, "The Little Theater That Could and The Story of Key Biscayne". He wanted to see if it could be offered by the Key Biscayne Historical Society to the public. That was just like Bob, to promote the island he loved, supporting the organizations of which he was a member. I only wish I'd known him better. I'll remember him fondly. Condolences to his family. Uncle Bob will be greatly missed. He has been my rock during the time of my father (his brother's) illness,(and after he died) answering questions, assisting in dealing with doctors, and just the moral support. His humor always lifted me up and his advice was always good. I will miss him greatly.
