Obituary of Stella T. Carroll
Stella Carroll, 93 of Lincroft passed away on September 26 at Centra State Medical Center in Freehold.
Stella was born in Dupont, Pennsylvania in 1924 but moved to New Jersey after her marriage in 1947. She lived and worked in Perth Amboy, New Jersey for many years before moving to Holmdel in 1991 and then to Lincroft where she resided the last nine years.
Stella was an avid craftswoman whose handicraft skills included quilting, tatting, and assorted kinds of sewing. After retirement, she spent countless Saturdays at Craft Shows throughout New Jersey exhibiting her wares. Literally hundreds of children got as a present a Stella-made baby quilt.
Stella was a devoted wife, a loving mother, and a diligent Catholic. She attended weekly religious services right up until her last week on earth. She was always very interested in the world around her and kept abreast of news events, especially the weather. We in the family called her "The Polish Weatherwoman". She also had the nickname "Stellabubba". She reveled in her children, her six grandchildren and spouses and her four great grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by all.
