Daniel Joseph Gauthier, 88 of Colts Neck, N.J. passed peacefully Saturday July 7th at his home. Dan was born in Tupper Lake, New York, to Lucille and Daniel J. Gauthier. After Dan’s graduation from high school, he served in the Army where he attained the rank of Corporal and was discharged honorably in 1954. Dan met and married his wife Lola in 1954 and spent 59 years together until her death in 2013. Dan spent the majority of his career working for Raytheon Corporation in a variety of roles, most recently as Manager of the Mid-Atlantic Region where he worked closely with the Army on the procurement of radar and other military equipment. He retired after 35 years with Raytheon in 1992. While employed at Raytheon, he was an active member of the Industrial Representatives Association and served as President for a term. In his spare time, Dan had an interest in Ham Radio and was fond of helping others with their home projects. Dan had lived in Colts Neck for 51 years and was a parishioner at St. Mary’s Church in Colts Neck, NJ. Surviving Dan are his loving children Ann and her husband Bruce Matt of Simpsonville, SC and his grandchild Robert Matt of Miami, FL, Dan Gauthier of Venice, FL, Robert Gauthier and his wife Karen and his grandchildren Jonathon and Matthew of San Diego, CA, and Paul Gauthier of Avon, CT. Visitation will be Wednesday, July 11th from 6 to 8 pm at the Holmdel Funeral Home, 26 South Holmdel Road, Holmdel. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, July 12th at 10:00 am at Saint Mary’s Church, 1 Phalanx Rd., Colts Neck. Dan will be interred with his late wife Lola at St. Rose of Lima Cemetery in Freehold. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Dan to Saint Mary's Church Social Concerns Fund.
