Mrs. Marie Benkert of Holmdel, NJ, born on April 27, 1930 in New York, NY, to the late Andrew and Catherine Ricci, passed away peacefully on May 13th, 2018 at Chelsea Assisted Living in Tinton Falls, NJ. She graduated from Matawan High School in 1947. Marie was retired from the Prudential Insurance Company. She had been active in the Holmdel Democratic Club, Holmdel Seniors Club and Bayshore Hospital Auxiliary. She was a parishioner of St. Catharine’s Church in Holmdel. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved spending her time with her family and friends. Special thank you to the staff at Chelsea Assisted Living and Grace Hospice. Holmdel Funeral Home is entrusted with handling funeral arrangements. Marie was predeceased by her husband Albert in 1996 and her daughter Carolann in 1976. Surviving Marie are her sons, Albert and his wife Maryellen, and Robert and his wife Brenda; grandchildren, Matthew and his wife Emma, Evan, Natale, and Allison; and great grandchild, William. Visitation will take place at the Holmdel Funeral Home, 26 South Holmdel Rd. on Wednesday May 16th from 4pm to 8pm. Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Thursday, May 17th at 9:15 am at St. Catharine’s R.C. Church, 108 Middletown Rd. Holmdel. Interment will follow at Holmdel Cemetery.
