Obituary of Anna Mio
Anna Mio, 94, Jackson, passed away, Wednesday, April 11th at home surrounding by her family.
Mrs. Mio was born in Bari, Italy. She and her husband immigrated to the United States in 1970, settling in Brooklyn before moving to Jackson. Living with her daughter and son-in-law, Mrs. Mio was always joyful to see her family. She and her husband travelled to Italy every year to see their family there. Mrs. Mio enjoyed gardening and growing flowers. A talented seamstress, Mrs. Mio made her own clothing for her children’s wedding.
Surviving are her children Domenico & Loreta Mio, Staten Island; Gaetano & Rosemarie Mio, Howell and Giulia & Giovanni Castellana, Jackson; her brother and sisters Antonio Lopez, Lina Salustio and Victoria Lopez all of Italy; her grandchildren Anthony & his wife Jennifer, Ernest & his wife Stephanie, Anthony & his wife Carmina, Michael, Christopher, Annalisa & her husband Neil and Cathy & her husband Danny; and her great grandchildren Lucianna, Domenica, Gianluca, Jake, Matthew, Alessia, Tommaso and Jane.
Visitation Friday, April 13th 5:00 – 9:00 pm at the Holmdel Funeral Home, 26 South Holmdel Road, Holmdel. Mass of Christian Burial Saturday, April 14th 10:00 am at St. Benedict RC Church, 165 Bethany Road, Holmdel. Entombment to follow in Holmdel Mausoleum.
